6 great tips on staying healthy this winter
1.Get your medicine cabinet or medicine box sorted out!
Be sure that you have the following health boosters on hand at all times this winter:
- Vitamin c supplement
- Colds and fever medication
- Rehydrating sachets
- Headache tablets
Be sure to check expiration dates of all medication in your home and get rid of all products that are past their expiry dates!
A large part of medicating comes from the foods we eat. Be sure to take in as much fresh foods as possible including green leafy vegetables, fruits and veggies high in vitamin C, and enough protein. Here is a guide to a balanced diet that should keep you in top shape this winter:
3.Keep it clean!
Sanitize and disinfect your home and your environment to keeps those nasty bugs at bay. A great idea is to have plenty of hand sanitizer around – keep it in your home, in your car, in your handbag and at work. The less bacteria around – the better! Ensure that your home is properly sanitized, especially if you have indoor pets. Use anti-bacterial products and disinfectants wherever possible.
4.Get checked out and vaccinated!
A visit to your GP is always a great idea especially at the beginning of the dreaded flu season. Opt for a flu vaccine and be protected.
Ensure that you are getting enough rest – and good quality rest. Sleep is a powerful healer so it is highly important that we are getting enough good quality rest so that our bodies can heal and rest.
6.Exercise – get that blood pumping!
Exercise is so good for us; it makes us feel happy, accomplished and social. Never exercise when you are feeling ill – it is always advisable to visit your GP if you are feeling sick, get the all clear before you attempt exercise.
